Slow & Low x Monster Children

Wanna go to cool places, do cool things, and take cool pictures? Hochstadter’s Slow & Low and Monster Children magazine have just the thing for you!

Hochstadter’s Slow & Low has teamed up with the lifestyle magazine, Monster Children to sponsor the Travel category for their annual Photo competition. Now in its 10th year, the Monster Children photo competition is open to applicants from around the world to submit photos in the following categories: Action, Lifestyle, Music, Student, Shot on Mobile, and Travel.

Applicants may submit to one, or to all of the categories, as often as they like. One winner per category will be awarded a cash prize of $5000 AUD.

Slow & Low is committed to supporting up and coming creatives, as the presenting sponsor of the travel category, Slow & Low is providing the opportunity for 1 of the 10 shortlisted travel category photographers with a paid photography position in 2021.

The selected US based shortlisted travel category photographer will be over the age of 21 and have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. This photographer will be presented with the opportunity to become the “Chief of Discovery” for Hochstadter’s Slow & Low. This position starts with a contract for a two-week road trip of choice to explore America’s soulful Southwest in Slow & Low’s tricked out 1978 Chevy G20 van. The “Chief of Discovery” role has the opportunity to be inhabited for a year of travel and photography for the brand.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Slow & Low on this incredible opportunity,” said Campbell Mil- ligan, Monster Children’s Founder & Creative Director. ‘We’ve long been fans of the brand and are delighted to give one of our entrants the chance to work with them. Travel is a rewarding experience in and of itself, but this is a truly unique way to experience some of America’s beautiful locales and put their photography skills to the test.”

The Chief of Discovery winner will be flown to California to meet with the marketing team to plan out the journey and dive into the Slow & Low lifestyle ethos.

“Rebellious and free spirited, Slow & Low is a lifestyle that is embodied by the artists, makers, fixers- the travelers- and all around doers…” said Andrea Cromaz, Cooper Spirit’s Vice President of Marketing. “It’s much more than a drink - it’s a whole mindset; it’s about the art of discovery. We’re excited to have someone dive deeper into that psyche and provide a visual representation of what it means to live life Slow & Low.”
